Medical students call on UK government to “fix our funding”

Medical students from across the UK rallied outside the Department for Education on 19 March to demand adequate financial support.
BMA representatives from the Medical Students Committee delivered a letter to Bridget Phillipson, the secretary of state for education, asking the government to “ensure that both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for the full Student Finance England maintenance loan provision for all years of study,” as well as improving access to funding through the NHS bursary, “including improving the claims process and exploring new sources of funding.”
