Around 50 000 people in Turkey died as a result of the earthquakes earlier this year, with tens of thousands more injured and more than 216 000 displaced.1 In Syria about 6000 people are believed to have been killed and more than 12 000 injured, and nearly 100 000 households have been displaced.2
