Class A drugs: use by young adults is at 16 year high, figures show

Use of class A drugs among UK adults aged 16 to 24 is at its highest level for 16 years, official figures have shown.1
The Home Office, which published the figures on drug misuse on 19 September, said that the spike was largely driven by an increase in use of powder cocaine and ecstasy. The data, drawn from the government’s Crime Survey for England and Wales, show that 8.7% of adults aged 16 to 24 had taken a class A drug in 2018-19.
