Hamilton highlights an important topic of debate regarding sepsis management in children.1 2 The study he mentions was a well conducted trial with robust outcome data and we do not disagree with its conclusions. We decided not to discuss this trial because the case selection and context of a randomised controlled trial constrain the applicability of the results.
