Andrew Kenneth Burroughs

Andrew Kenneth Burroughs (“Andy”) was born to an Italian mother and an English father. He was lucky enough to combine the best of both genetic lineages, being methodical, fiery, passionate, and loyal. He was educated at the Overseas School of Rome, and then moved to Kent College, Canterbury, from 1966 to 1971.

He went to Liverpool University Medical School in 1971 and at an early age demonstrated his intellect and clinical skills, winning several prizes. He joined Dame Sheila Sherlock at the Royal Free Hospital, north London, as a medical registrar in 1979, and she recognised early on the rising star in her middle.
