Ministers plan to ban sale of e-cigarettes to children: The UK government is to introduce amendments to the Children and Families Bill next week to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes to children under 18 years old in England and make it illegal for adults to buy cigarettes for children. E-cigarettes give the smoker a hit of nicotine, and although they are thought to be safer than cigarettes, England’s chief medical officer has warned that no one really knows how safe they actually are.
