Bahraini authorities force Médecins Sans Frontières to leave the country

The international humanitarian aid agency Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has suspended its operations in Bahrain after police raided its office in the capital, Manama, and seized all its medical and computer equipment, accusing it of running an illegal clinic.

A Bahraini volunteer, Saeed Mahdi, who works as a driver and translator for the organisation, was arrested and charged with criminal offences, including providing health services without a licence and providing false information to the police.
