Ernest John Wallace Gumpert

John Gumpert (“Wally”) was a highly respected and much loved neurologist and neurophysiologist at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital until retirement in 1995.
He was born in Sheffield into a medical family. Both parents, his brother, and his uncle were doctors. He trained at Queens’ College, Cambridge, and Guy’s Hospital, London.
