US president Barack Obama’s global health initiative will produce more value for money than current government aid programmes, a senior government official has said.
Amie Batson, deputy assistant administrator for global health, USAID, was speaking at a forum organised by the US think tank the Kaiser Family Foundation in Washington and said the initiative was an effort to create programmes that are sustainable and have “more value for the money than the US government is investing in the field.”
