I have always been a firm believer in the so called mind-body connection. As a family doctor, I have witnessed time and again the effects of depression and anxiety on patients with chronic illness, and likewise the conundrum of unexplained physical symptoms that defy all attempts to reduce them into a particular diagnostic category.
