Summerfield suggests that, by relying on data from the Israeli human rights organisation B’Tselem, I am “at risk of uncritically recycling figures that promote self-exculpating IDF mantras.”1 After all, he asserts, “B’Tselem must depend in part on what the IDF tells them.”
